Vietnam's cephalopod exports to Thailand increased by 25%

(seafood. vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's cephalopod exports to Thailand in the first 6 months of this year achieved positive growth. As of July 15, 2021, exports of cephalopods to Thailand reached US$31.5 million, up 25.3% over the same period last year.

Vietnams cephalopod exports to Thailand increased by 25

Thailand is the third largest single importer of cephalopods of Vietnam, accounting for 10.7% of the total value of Vietnam's squid and octopus exports to markets.

In the first half of this year, there were 29 Vietnamese enterprises exporting cephalopod molluscs to Thailand, in which, the leading companies were S.ruam Vietnam Co., Ltd., Viko Seafood Company Limited, and Hoa Nam Co., Ltd. Viet Food Company Limited…

Vietnam's main cephalopod products exported to Thailand include: frozen cut octopus, dried squid, unprocessed dried black squid, fresh cleaned frozen cuttlefish, whole dried black squid, squid frozen cuts…

According to ITC data, in the first half of this year, imports of cephalopods into Thailand reached over US$48 million, up 45.6% over the same period. Vietnam is the largest supplier to Thailand, accounting for 56%. China ranks second with a market share of 36%.
