Bivalve exports increase by 4%
(vasep.com.vn) In May, Vietnamese bivalve companies earned US$ 7.27 million from exports, 6.6% lower than the same period in 2014. Through May, bivalve exports reached US$ 32.6 million, presenting a 4.2% year-on-year increase.
Binh Dinh approves hi-tech shrimp farming project
The central province of Binh Dinh has allowed Vietnam-Australia Seafood Company to develop a major shrimp farming and processing project using greenhouse technology on 300 hectares in Phu My district, the Saigon Times Daily reports.
Shrimp exports up 9% in May 2015
(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports in May 2015 reached US$242.7 million, up 9% compared to the previous month, but still down 29.6% over May 2014.
Seafood exports reached nearly 3 billion, down 16%
(vasep.com.vn) Through June 2015, seafood export turnover reached USD 2.97 billion, down 16% over 2014. Seafood export value of Vietnam in June 2015 reached the record low level in the last 3 months.
Shrimp exports is expected to reach the highest recorded value, at over US$ 4 billion, up 25% year on year and is the seafood export item with the highest growth rate.
Pangasius exports in 2014 is estimated at approximately US$ 1.8 billion, up 0.2% from 2013.
“Dolphin safe” stickers were posted on tuna fishing vessels, fishing ports, trading desks in 7 key tuna fishing provinces in January 2015.
In the first 4 months of 2015, the country earned US$ 25 million from bivalve exports, up 8% over the same period last year.
