Will seafood exports surpass US$6.7 billion in 2014?
(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam seafood exports in 2013 outreached the target of US$6.5 billion to reach US$6.7 billion. The figure was attributable to a great contribution of shrimp export turnover with over US$3 billion, making up 46 percent of the country’s total seafood exports.

(vasep.com.vn) Seafood exports to China in first 10 months of 2013 totaled US$462 million, up 37 percent year-on-year in which shrimp shipment valued at US$310 million, up 50 percent. In October alone, shrimp exports to China nearly doubled compared to the same month of 2012.

In which the local fishermen caught 520 MT of ocean tuna, up 3.5 percent. Aquaculture production hit over 1,000 MT, down 0.3 percent.
